Restaurants
Sketch Architecture Company has years of experience in designing traditional restaurants (stand-alone and tenant improvement), fast-food drive-thru restaurants, and QSR - quick serve restaurants. For new independent stand-alone restaurants Sketch Architecture Company works with the Owner to establish the “program” of the project. Once seating is determined, the number of meals establishes the kitchen size. The proposed menu establishes the kitchen equipment requirements. Once these are decided upon, the basic floor plan is conceived and reviewed for efficiency, movement, and guest comfort.
The floor plan is then expanded to create the architecture of the spaces. Style and theme direct the decoration of the spaces. The kitchen, bar areas and points of sale are fleshed out with equipment selections, health code requirements, and cooking line requirements. Lighting design will set the mood of the restaurant and create the ambiance wanted by the Owner. The restaurant will then fulfill all the wants, needs, and wishes of the Owner and create an environment conducive to enjoyment.
Fast-food and QSR restaurants are typically corporate owned. The process then changes to a pre-packaged standard prototype. This prototype is then inserted into the tenant space, or in the case of a stand-along unit, sited and exterior designed per the jurisdiction’s requirements.
The result of Sketch Architecture Company and the Owner working together as a team, is a well-conceived restaurant that meets the Owner’s requirement for style, environment, and efficiency.
